Premanand Maharaj ji Born and Study
Shri Premanand Maharaj ji was a great saint, devotee and self-realized great man, whose life has been an example of service, devotion and sacrifice. Shri Premanand ji Maharaj was born on March 30, 1969 in a village named Akhri in Sarsaul block of Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. Shri Premanand Maharaj ji received formal education only up to the fifth grade. His mind was attracted towards spirituality since childhood. Shri Premanand ji was not interested in studies. He left studies by the time he reached the ninth grade and he had made up his mind to live a spiritual life in search of God. He left home at the age of 13.
He was very interested in devotion since childhood. He was of spiritual nature and stayed away from worldly attractions. He had a deep interest in devotion to God since childhood and he used to spend most of his time in solitude in sadhna and meditation.
Family
Shri Premanand Maharaj ji was born in a Brahmin family. His family had a religious atmosphere. His grandfather was a sanyasi. His father, Shri Shambhu Pandey was also a religious person and later he also took sanyas. His mother’s name was Shrimati Rama Devi who was a religious lady and respected all the saints very much. His elder brother used to recite Shrimad Bhagwatam, which the whole family used to listen to.
Struggle
Shri Premanand Maharaj ji life was full of hardships and challenges, which shaped him into an extraordinary saint and spiritual guru. He was born in a poor Brahmin family. From childhood, he faced financial hardships. His family did not have enough resources, which made his early life difficult. At the age of just 13, he left home in search of truth. Being separated from family and society at such a young age was a big struggle. After leaving home, he adopted the path of rigorous penance. He spent his life on the banks of the river Ganges. At the age of about 30, he was diagnosed with kidney failure. Doctors had given up hope of his survival, as both his kidneys had failed. According to medical science, it is very difficult to survive without a kidney. Despite this, he struggled with this disease for about 18 years. Despite so many hardships, he never gave up his devotion and spiritual practice.
Life
It is believed that Shri Premanand Maharaj ji left home in childhood and set out in search of God. He travelled to various pilgrimage sites in India and finally returned to Ayodhya and got permanently absorbed in penance and meditation. His life was extremely simple, restrained and full of service. He never desired wealth. The teachings of Premanand Maharaj ji are simple, heart-touching and practical. He emphasizes the importance of Bhakti Yoga and describes chanting the names of Radha-Krishna as the simplest and most effective path to spiritual progress. A large number of people, including actors, leaders and sportspersons, participate in his satsangs.
The biggest feature of Premanand Ji is his pure devotion and natural love, which attracted every person. People experienced spiritual peace just by seeing him. He always gives the message of love, compassion and brotherhood. Devotees consider him to be the form of God. He established an ashram at a peaceful and sacred place in Ayodhya, where he gives spiritual education to seekers and conducts satsangs. Lakhs of people visit his ashram. Many big celebrities have also come to meet Shri Premananda Maharaj.
